Dr. Aji Nair was born and raised in the lower mainland in British Columbia. He obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Simon Fraser University and then obtained his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2003 from Ross University, in the Caribbean. After graduation, he completed a specialized Emergency and Critical Care Internship at Dove Lewis Emergency Animal Hospital in Portland, Oregon. Dr Nair has been fortunate enough to have worked and studied in the veterinary field in Oregon, Minnesota, and an extremely busy small animal emergency hospital in Phoenix, Arizona.
After almost 10 years away from home, he finally made his way back to the lower mainland in 2008 and has worked as an emergency veterinarian since that time. His passions include emergency medicine and internal medicine. He loves all animals, but especially has a soft spot for German Shepherds and orange tabbies.
Away from work, Dr. Nair likes to spend time with family and friends, loves to travel, is currently trying his hand at writing a novel, is a movie enthusiast, and enjoys playing the piano. He has been a die hard Vancouver Canucks fan since he can remember.
He is very excited to be joining the team at Burrard Animal Hospital and Emergency and looks forward to meeting all of you and your pets soon!
